Cherryland Pilot:

How it Works

A Brown Lumber Installed Sales & Service (BLISS) consultant will assist you throughout the entire process—from your initial questions and loan pre-approval to the selection and installation of measures.

Step 1: Click here to sign up or get more information about the program. A member of the BLISS team will contact you to discuss your needs and walk you through the process.

Step 2:  A member of the BLISS team will help you determine what makes the most sense for you and your home. You can choose one or both of the following options:

  • Option 1: BLISS will schedule a comprehensive energy assessment to determine how best to improve your home’s efficiency and comfort. Once the assessment is complete, you can determine which of the energy-saving measures you want to pursue.
  • Option 2: Working with a member of the BLISS team, you can select specific energy-saving measures that have been pre-approved for financing by Michigan SAVES. (Click here for the complete list of qualifying equipment and measures.)

Step 3: Work with a member of the BLISS team to apply for a preferred rate energy efficiency loan through Members Credit Union based on a final work plan that fits your home and your budget. The loan amount must be greater than $1,000.

Step 4: Once the loan is secured through Members Credit Union, the BLISS team will install the equipment according to the work plan you have approved.

Step 5: Once the work is done, BLISS will inspect the work to ensure proper installation and then you will sign and submit a certificate of completion.

Step 6: Reap the benefits of energy efficiency every single year.
